LEMIN - WEBSITE REDESIGN

UX/UI Design Support

Challenge

The young startup Lemin has developed a platform for companies, who want to provide their employees with precise and personalised coaching moments. In the early stages of the product, Hildebranding was asked to conduct a UX analysis of the underlying concept and to develop proposals for a redesign.

In the course of this collaboration, we created both a new corporate design for Lemin and concrete clickable prototypes for the customer and admin view of the service. These formed the basis for the technical implementation and optimisation of the service, so that it is now possible for more and more companies to prepare their employees optimally and digitally for the challenges of the future.

Methods

For Lemin, as for all individual projects, we have developed a customized process to provide them with the UX/UI support needed at the current stage as quickly as possible. The following methods were used:

By using a visual knowledge map created in advance, clients can clearly see and add to already clarified aspects, new proposals and also open questions during the briefing with Hildebranding. We want to use every second of the briefing to gain information and clarify open points and not to waste valuable time on avoidable repetitions or misunderstandings.

Especially with new products, you can't look back on a ton of data yet and have to make assumptions that need to be validated. In order to build up the newly developed designs in a scalable way and to make later validation and adaptation comprehensible, Hildebranding always uses frameworks such as user profiles and journeys. These clear representations of the users life help enormously in the iterative further development of digital products and the conscious making of decisions.

Even if as a designer you often have an inspiring idea of what a new digital product should look like, we at Hildebranding know that a consistent elaboration of a concept is always key. Only through the first rough visualisation of all possibilities we can detect gaps in the UX strategy or problems in the technical feasibility. In order to save time and effort, we always draft the first rough concept with wireframes so that we can make decisions with the client about possible innovation paths on this basis.

We design user interface prototypes not as pieces of art, but as building kits. And these kits must be practical, understandable and quickly expandable and modifiable. By using smart components and symbol libraries in tools such as Figma or Sketch, we can not only guarantee rapid adaptation in iteration loops, but also a comprehensible component structure for developers: from the moment of handover, they can find all the information in our designs that gives them an understanding of the desired result, but also provides concrete help steps for implementation (CSS styles, colour codes, spacing, etc.).

We value collaboration with our clients very much - and we have learned that we take the work off their shoulders when we let them actively participate in our process - as shortly as possible. To get a feel for the progress of a project, we regularly offer virtual short presentations or mini-workshops that provide a pooled exchange of information and quick decision loops. This way, all relevant parties of a project know about everything essential – and can refocus on their expert work with new impulses.

Redesign results

“I had the great pleasure to work with Kathrin for our web-app. Not only did she understand our product and the idea in a very short time, but she was able to adapt the design perfectly to our target group and our ideas. I highly appreciated her professionalism, reliability and creativity and can recommend Kathrin without reservation.”
